Community

GIBA intends to build a professional community of interest ahead of any formal membership structures. This page explains the intended model only — it is under development.

A community of interest first

Before any membership product exists, GIBA aims to gather a community of interest around the digital built environment — professionals following the work and shaping its direction.

Membership

A future professional community structure is intended to support students, practitioners, professionals, organisations, academic institutions and institutional partners.

Membership is distinct from professional certification. It would recognise participation in a professional community; it would not, by itself, confer a credential or imply assessed competence.

There is no joining mechanism, no membership product, no membership category and no member benefits at this stage.

Chapters and regional networks

Chapters and regional networks are an intended future construct. None exist, and no regional presence or network scale may be claimed.

Events

No events are scheduled or listed. Events will appear here only when they are real.

Volunteers and contributors

A contributor model is intended. Current working contributors are recognised per controlled records on the About page; no wider volunteer programme is operational yet.

GIBA’s membership, certification and examination frameworks are currently under development and are not yet open for application.
